Bhubaneswar: The Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar hosted a 3-day international seminar-cum-workshop on “People, Culture and Living Heritage”.
The inaugural day of the seminar, organised by Post-Graduate Department of Anthropology, Sociology, Social Work of the college in its campus on Sunday, started with address by convener Prof Itishree Padhee and Principal of the college.
Brent Horning, a senior research scholar of University of California, USA and Sridhar Patra, Chief Managing Director of Nalco, Bhubaneswar spoke on the theme.
Ashok Panda, Minister of Science and Technology, Arvind Agarwal, secretary, Higher Education department, Prof Trilokinath Pandey, Emeritus Professor from University of California, USA also held a discussion on the subject.
Prof AB Ota, a renowned anthropologist was felicitated on the occasion. The vote of thanks was given by co-convener Bibhari Bal.
