Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday announced weeklong celebration of birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik in Odisha from March 5.
Briefing mediapersons at the party office here, senior leaders AU Singhdeo, Sanjay Dasburma and Pramilla Mallick said the BJD government will complete its 20-year rule in the state on March 5. As this coincides with the birth anniversary of the legendary leader, the party along with its youth and women wing will celebrate his birth anniversary for seven days.
“Apart from the party, the event will also be celebrated by the state government. Special programmes will be held in Cuttack, the birthplace of the former Chief Minister, they added.
