BJD Leader Prasanna Acharya Claims Odisha Now Has 4 Govts; BJP Counters

Sambalpur: Taking a dig at Odisha’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, veteran Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Prasanna Acharya on Saturday claimed that at least four persons are running the administration in the state.

Addressing a party function at Rairakhol in Sambalpur district, the former Minister said that the previous BJD government was functioning only under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik.

However, there are four governments functioning in the state after the BJP came to power, the senior BJD leader alleged, adding that work is getting severely affected because of this peculiar situation.

While one leader operating from New Delhi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and two other leaders in the state are running the BJP government in Odisha, Acharya claimed. He did not take the two other names and said they are friends.

The BJD leader further claimed that work is undertaken in the government only after instruction is given by these four leaders. As a result, many files have been lying static before the state government for three months, he claimed.

Reacting sharply to Acharya’s allegation, BJP said the Mohan Majhi is an elected government and it is not based on the leadership of a particular individual. The BJP government is functioning in a coordinated and collective manner to fulfill all promises made in the run up to the last elections.

Several promises made by BJP have already been fulfilled, while the rest will be met in time, he said, asking BJD leaders to refrain from making baseless allegations.
