Bhubaneswar: National spokesman of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra on Saturday rebutted the allegations of BJP leader Daggubati Purandeswari by stating that she was not aware of the facts about Odisha.
Hours after BJP’s Odisha in-charge Purandeswari criticised the BJD government in the state for misrule at a press meet, Patra issued a statement saying that she has come to motivate her party leaders and workers after the defeat in recent by-elections. The BJP’s loss in Balasore has demoralised the party, he added.
On Purandeswari accusation on pucca houses, Patra said it seems she is unaware that Odisha has been awarded by BJP government at the Centre with five awards for constructing the largest number of houses.
Regarding BJP leader’s allegation on Pari murder case, the BJD spokesman said the BJP in the past had undertaken a series of agitations demanding CBI probe into Jayaram Pangi’s role in the murder of Itishree Pradhan. But when he joined BJP, the party welcomed him and also gave him an election ticket, he added.
Patra said the BJP leader should have spoken on the Centre’s decision on farmer issues, particularly hike in the MSP of paddy.
