Bhubaneswar: A day after Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik revamped the media wing, the regional party on Monday said that the exercise is aimed at placing people’s voice before the state government for appropriate steps.
Addressing a press meet in Bhubaneswar, BJD national spokesperson Santrupt Misra and state media coordinator Pratap Jena said changes are made in the party whenever necessary in order to make the organisation more vibrant and effective.
Stating that the media cell of the regional party has been working effectively, Pratap Jena said it has been revamped as part of efforts to make it more dynamic and vibrant.
The aim is to highlight different issues and problems being faced by the people for necessary steps by the government, he said, adding that the media wing will work sincerely to raise people’s voice and place their problems before the state government.
Asserting that the party will fight for the interest of the state and its people, Jena said that BJD will register its protest whenever the interest of people is harmed.
Notably, the BJD on Sunday appointed Santrupt Misra, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Amar Patnaik, Sasmit Patra and Pradeep Kumar Majhi as national spokespersons.Santrupt Misra has also been appointed as political secretary to party president Naveen Patnaik.
The BJD has also appointed 14 leaders as its state spokespersons. Senior leader Pratap Jena has been appointed as state media coordinator and Swayam Prakash Mohapatra as social media coordinator.
