Bhubaneswar: Several national news websites got the results of the BJD’s victory in the Urban Local Body (ULB) elections in Odisha wrong, giving Naveen Patnaik’s party victory in 95 civic chief posts out of 108, whose results were declared on Saturday.
India Today, Aaj Tak and Amar Ujala are among the national news websites that got the result figures wrong.
Aaj Tak said the BJD has won 95 civic chief posts, the BJP 6 and Congress 4.
Amar Ujala’s report, published on Saturday night, too said the BJD has won 95 posts of civic chiefs. Its report on the Odisha civic polls, carried on Saturday afternoon, however, said the BJD was leading in 76 civic chief posts, which is actually the number of civic chief posts the BJD has won out of 108.
India Today’s report said “the BJD has won 95 of 108 municipalities in the Odisha civic elections, with the opposition BJP and Congress a distant second and third securing 16 and seven seats respectively, while independents won nine seats”.
Till the filing of this report, all these sites were carrying wrong figures.
