Briefing mediapersons here, BJP state secretary Lekhashree Samantsinghar said the state government was planning for the takeover of CESU by the India Power Corporation Ltd (IPCL).
“The Bihar government had engaged the IPCL in the power transmission and distribution in the state. But it later blacklisted the company and removed it for its failure in handling the responsibility. The state government should have handed over the CESU to well-known companies like the Tata Power and Reliance. Instead, it has decided to hand it over to the IPCL after receiving kickbacks to the tune of Rs 1000 crore,” she claimed.
Alleging that the BJD government haf received the kickbacks from the IPCL to manage the expenses of the ensuing Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, Samantsinghar said her party would take up the matter with the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
However, the BJD refuted the allegation.
“The allegations of the BJP is baseless as whatever decision the state government has taken or is going to take will be done in a transparent manner,” BJD vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra said.
