BJP Hits Back On Kharge’s Latest ‘Ravana’ Jibe At PM Modi
New Delhi: A massive row erupted amid campaigning for Gujarat polls after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with ‘Ravana’ during a rally in Ahmedabad.
“Votes are sought in the name of Modiji, be it municipality elections, corporation elections or state elections… How many times do we see your face? How many forms do you have? Do you have 100 heads like Ravan?” the veteran Congress leader said, drawing laughter and applause from his audience.
Accusing Kharge of “insulting Gujarat’s son” repeatedly, the BJP on Tuesday urged the people of Gujarat to avenge the insult by voting against the grand old party in the state Assembly polls.
Unable to take the heat of Gujarat election, pushed to the fringe, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge loses control over his words, calls Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Ravan”.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Kharge calling PM Modi Ravana shows the mindset of Congress. “Congress leaders have insulted him in the past too. When Sonia Gandhi was the Congress chief, she had addressed the Prime Minister as ‘maut ka saudagar’ (merchant of death). Former Congress leader and former union minister Subodh Kant Sahay had said that “Modi will die Hitler’s death. Nicknames like ‘cockroach’, ‘yamraj’, ‘monkey’ were given to the Prime Minister by Congress leaders,” Patra said at a presser.
