BJP Lodges Police Complaint Against BJD’s Arup Patnaik In Bhubaneswar For Remarks On Odisha LoP
Bhubaneswar: Strongly protesting senior BJD leader Arup Patnaik’s reported remarks about Odisha’s Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra, BJP on Friday lodged a police complaint against the former IPS officer in Bhubaneswar.
Hitting out at Patnaik for allegedly throwing a challenge over the alleged scuffle between Mishra and a woman police officer, BJP MLAs took out a march and lodged a complaint against the BJD leader at the Capital Police Station.
A BJP delegation led by senior leader and party chief whip in Assembly Mohan Majhi also moved Governor Ganeshi Lal seeking protection for the LoP alleging that there is a conspiracy to eliminate him.
Instead of nabbing the real culprits and conspirators behind the murder of Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, the state government is hatching a conspiracy to arrest the LoP to prevent him from putting the administration in an embarrassing postion, Majhi alleged.
The government seems to be worried as it fears that Mishra may do something that will put it on the back foot during the upcoming Assembly session, he claimed.
Majhi further alleged that the woman police officer had attacked Jayanarayan Mishra and subsequently Arup Patnaik used threatening words against the LoP.
There is a conspiracy by the state government to keep Jayanarayan Mishra away from the Assembly during the coming budget session.
Therefore, the party has lodged a complaint with the police demanding immediate arrest of BJD leader Patnaik, he said, adding that the party is also demanding adequate security for Jayanarayan Mishra.
