Konark: Rabi Mallick, BJP candidate for Kakatpur assembly constituency, was allegedly attacked by some unidentified miscreants at Kakatpur in Puri district on Thursday night.
According to sources, Rabi Mallick had gone to meet party workers at Shrirampur village, where he was allegedly detained for more than two hours by some miscreants who also attacked him.
On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued Mallick.
The MLA candidate has lodged a complaint at Kakatpur police station in this regard.
“I had gone to Shrirampur village to meet my party workers at around 10 pm on Thursday. Some anti-social element attacked me there. They also abused the Sarapancha and Zilla Parishad member, who were with me. I have lodged a complaint with the police,” he said.
