Bhubaneswar: The BJD on Thursday moved the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO),Odisha, seeking immediate action against BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Sambalpur while accusing him of distributing money among voters.
The regional party, in a memorandum submitted to the CEO, alleged that the saffron party is trying to solicit votes in Sambalpur for the Lok Sabha candidate by distributing Rs 500 each among the electorate.
The party have urged for urgent action against the candidate as Sambalpur is going to polls this Saturday.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is contesting the Sambalpur Lok Sabha elections on BJP ticket. He is pitted against BJD organisational secretary BJD’s Pranab Prakash Das and former Congress MP Nagendra Kumar Pradhan.
