BJP President J P Nadda To Make Party Battle-Ready In Odisha Ahead Of 2024, To Address Rallies
Bhubaneswar: As part of efforts to galvanise the party in Odisha ahead 2024 elections, BJP president J P Nadda is all set to address two public meetings and attend several programmes in tribal-dominated Kandhamal and coastal Puri Lok Sabha segments on Wednesday.
Undertaking his ‘Lok Sabha Pravas’ campaign, the BJP national president is scheduled to address rallies at Tumudibandha in Kandhamal and Banapur in Puri. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is also slated to attend the programmes.
In Kandhamal, elaborate arrangements have been made to accord a rousing welcome to Nadda at Jaleshpatta Ashram in Tumudibandha. Apart from addressing a public gathering, the BJP chief will also inaugurate a shelter home for devotees and ashramites at Jaleshpatta.
According to the Chief Seer of Jaleshpatta Ashram, Swami Jivanamuktananda, supreme sacrifice was made by VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati for national interest and conservation of Hindu religion and culture. Nadda will pay his tributes to Swami Laxmanananda at his burial place.
Ashram inmates and devotees will welcome Nadda, while the students at the Kanyashram are eager to hear the senior leader.
It may be noted here that Swami Laxmanananda and four of his associates were murdered at his Jaleshpata Ashram on August 23, 2008 when the inmates of the ashram were preparing for Janmashtami celebrations. The killing had triggered widespread communal violence in Kandhamal and adjoining areas.
The BJP president is also slated meet the party’s mandal and booth presidents, the parliamentary team in charge of Kandhamal and Puri Lok Sabha constituencies, besides holding other organisational meetings.
Nadda’s day-long programme is significant as it comes ahead of the Lok Sabha and state Assembly polls due in 2024 with an aim to bolster the prospects of the saffron party.
The BJP president had visited Odisha and addressed a public meeting in Bhubaneswar in September.
