Bhubaneswar: Stepping up its attack on Odisha’s BJD government over alleged police excesses during party Yuva Morcha’s protest in Bhubaneswar, BJP on Thursday annuonced its decision to lodge FIRs at all police stations across the state.
Addressing a press meet in Bhubaneswar, state BJP general secretary Pritiviraj Harichandan said FIR will be lodged at all the police stations in the state on Friday against officials for the police-Yuva Morcha scuffle that took place during a rally in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Accusign the state government of having reached the height of arrogance, the senior BJP leader alleged that it is acting in a totalitarian manner to prevent the opposition from discharging its responsibility.
The party will name the state Director General of Police (DGP), Bhubaneswar- Cuttack Commissioner of Police and DCP, Bhubaneswar in the FIRs, he said.
If the police do not accept the complaints, the party will move the court for necessary step, the senior BJP leader said.
This apart, BJP leaders and workers will stage demonstration across the state to protest the alleged attack on Yuva Morcha activists during their protest, Harichandan said.
The party will stage demonstration in front of offices of all the Superintendents of Police (SP) throughout the state on March 4, the BJP leader said.
Coming down heavily on the state government, Harichandan said efforts are being made to scare the youths and suppress the voice against bad governance by creating an atmosphere of terror.
