Bhubaneswar: Agitated over rising incidents of rape and murder of minors in Odisha, activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) staged a statewide protest on Sunday.
Separate demonstrations and rallies were organised by party members, who accused the BJD-led Odisha government for his alleged failure to maintain law and order and ensure safety of women.
Holding banners and placards, a group of saffron party workers took out a massive rally from its state headquarters in Odisha capital to Ram Mandir Square, where they held a protest meeting.
“The declining law and order scenario indicates that the state government has completely failed to protect girls and women, especially the minors. The government should act firmly and take appropriate steps to ensure safety of women, failing which we will intensify the protests in the days to come,” a party leader said.
