Bhubaneswar: The agitating block grant teachers have decided to organise a mass convention in the city on Wednesday to put pressure on the state government to fulfil their six-point charter of demands.
“Thousands of block grant teachers from different colleges across the state will participate in the convention and prepare strategies to fight for their rights as the government has remained callous towards our longstanding demands despite repeated requests and protests”, said All Odisha School and College Teachers’ and Employees’ United Forum Golak Nayak.
“The forum once again requests the government not to be rigid and sort out the problems faced by the teaching community to save the future of students”, Nayak added.
The block grant teachers are on strike in front of all the 56 evaluation centres across the state to boycott the evaluation of Plus II answer scripts that began on Monday.
The second-phase evaluation process will conclude on April 26.
