BMC Asks Political Parties To Remove Posters & Banners In Odisha Capital Ahead Of Elections
Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly Polls in Odisha, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked political parties to remove all posters and banners from the walls across the state capital.
The BMC directive is based on Election Commission of India’s (ECI) guidelines.
BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange informed that based on the Election Commission (EC) guidelines, all posters, banners and slogans written on walls will be removed.
“All political advertisements will be removed and the process has already been started. The BMC staff are being given necessary directions. We are going by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the EC and the political parties are also supporting us,” he told media.
Kulange also informed that apart from political parties, BMC is urging others also to adhere to the Election Commission guidelines in the coming days. “It is a routine procedure followed before elections,” he said.
