Mumbai: As anticipated by Kangana Ranaut, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday started demolishing illegal alterations at her Mumbai office, reported Times Now.
The 33-year-old actress tweeted pictures of the BMC workers demolishing certain areas of her office. “Pakistan…#deathofdemocracy”, captioned the ‘Queen’ actor.
The National Award-winning actress is scheduled to arrive in Mumbai from Himachal Pradesh later today.
“I am never wrong and my enemies prove again and again this is why my Mumbai is POK now,” said Ranaut in another tweet. Her previous tweet, in which she compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir had drawn the ire of Shiv Sena leaders, especially Sanjay Raut.
Comparing her ‘Manikarnika Films’ office at Pali Hill in Bandra West to ‘Ram Temple’ and BMC to ‘Babur’, the actress also claimed that she was being targeted by the Maharashtra government because of her fight with the Shiv Sena, the report added.
In the reply submitted by Ranaut’s lawyers, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai called the allegations baseless, Times Now reported.
“After receipt of the notice, you continued the work…So, the notice structure as mentioned in the notice is liable for forthwith demolition at your risk, cost and consequences,” the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai was quoted as saying by Times Now.
The report added that the demolition work will reportedly be completed today itself.
Before this, the BMC had pasted a second notice outside her bungalow, apprising her of the action the civic body was set to take. On Tuesday, BMC had filed a `caveat’ in a local court, saying it should be heard first if the actress challenges a stop-work notice issued to her, TimesNow reported.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has already announced that the Mumbai Police will investigate allegations made by Ranaut’s former boyfriend Adhyayan Suman that she took drugs.
