Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has imposed restrictions for the devotees observing ‘Ananta Brata’ at Ananta Vasudev temple, here tomorrow due to COVID pandemic.
In an official notification, BMC commissioner Sanjay Singh said considering that a large number of devotees turn up at the temple to offer puja on the occasion of ‘Ananta Brata’, there will be no public gathering, public darshan and partaking of the Mahaprasad on the temple premises.
The rituals of the temple deities will be performed by sevayats amid strict COVID protocols.
The commissioner has directed the temple administration to allow only fully vaccinated sevayats to perform the rituals by using face masks and maintaining social distancing. The temple administration has also been asked to provide hand sanitisers to the sevayats.
As per tradition, ‘Ananta Brata’ is observed in Bhadraba/Ashwina months of Odia calendar by worshipping Ananta Murti or Basuki and offering sweet delicacies and fruits.
