Chandigarh: Navjyot Singh Sidhu has to wait to know if his dream of becoming Punjab chief minister will be fulfilled.
The Congress legislature party met on Saturday soon after Captain Amarinder Singh submitted his resignation to the state Governor. But no decision could be reached as to who will succeed the Captain.
The ball is now in party president Sonia Gandhi’s court.
“A resolution was passed whereby Congress president Sonia Gandhi was entrusted with the decision to pick the new chief minister,” Punjab Congress chief Harish Rawat told mediapersons after the meeting.
