Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said the possibility of reopening the religious places in the city now seems to be remote due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said they were in consultation with all the stake-holders before taking a decision on opening the religious places to the devotees. The municipal authorities are taking the opinions of health experts and doctors in this regard, he added.
However, the BMC will announce its decision after considering all aspects, Chaudhary said.
