Hefty Fine Noose To Curb Stray Cattle Menace In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will impose a hefty penalty on the owners of the cattle found roaming on thoroughfares and market places.
As decided, the cattle straying on the roads will be caught and kept at Kanjia Huda (enclosure). The owner will have to pay a fine of Rs 5000 to take the cattle back.
The BMC authorities will keep the cattle inside the enclosure for three days. If the owner does not turn up during this period, the cattle will be handed over to self-help groups (SHGs) in the neighbouring district that have set up dairy farms, sources said.
