Board of Technical Education, Delhi, Cancels Final Exams Of Diploma Courses
New Delhi: The Board of Technical Education (BTE), Delhi, has cancelled final examinations for all diploma courses. According to a notice released by the University, students of all semesters will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment and previous year’s performance.
Fifty per cent weightage will be given to internal assessment in the current year, and the rest to marks obtained in last year’s final exams.
Students wishing to improve their score can, however, appear for the exams, the dates of which are yet to be announced.
Students with compartment or back papers in any of the previous semesters will have to clear those papers whenever the exam is held.
The Delhi government had asked University Grants Commission (UGC) not to conduct final year exams of any course. The UGC is still maintaining that exams will have to be conducted by September for degrees to be considered valid.
