Bollywood Celebs Who Tested Positive For COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: The vaccine drive launched by the government has been scaling new peaks, but everyone is still recommended to take all precautions to safeguard against COVID-19.

The spectre of coronavirus is very much there and sparing no one, including celebrities from the tinsel town. Actor Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali are the latest names from Bollywood to have tested positive for the virus.

Here’s a list of celebrities who have tested COVID-19 positive since the pandemic broke out last year.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently under home quarantine. The actor’s mother, Neetu Kapoor, confirmed the news on Tuesday.

Taking to Instagram, Neetu posted a picture of Ranbir and wrote, “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions.”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Hours after Neetu Kapoor confirmed the COVID-19 positive status of Ranbir Kapoor on Tuesday, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also found to have been infected by the virus.

The director is currently shooting for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ with Alia Bhatt in Mumbai’s Goregaon Film City.

According to a media report, the national award-winning filmmaker is under self-quarantine.

Neetu Kapoor

Before Ranbir, Neetu Kapoor had also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The actress had contracted the virus when she was shooting for her upcoming film ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ in December last year.

She recovered within days and tested negative. Her daughter, Riddhima had shared the news of Neetu testing COVID-19 negative on Instagram. She wrote, “Thank you for all your good wishes & prayers – My mother has tested Covid negative today (sic).”

Varun Dhawan

In December 2020, Coolie No.1actor Varun Dhawan confirmed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The actor was shooting for his next ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ in Chandigarh when he contracted the virus.

Sharing a screenshot of his video call with his friends, Varun wrote, “VITAMIN FRIENDS. So as I returned to work in the pandemic era I have contracted COVID-19. All precautions were taken by the production but still nothing is certain in life especially not COVID-19. So please be extra careful I believe I could have been more careful.”

Harshvardhan Rane

Harshvardhan Rane had tested positive for COVID-19 in October last year and went for 10 days of isolation.

The Bollywood actor took to Twitter and posted a long note sharing that he had fever and stomach ache. He captioned the post saying, “Tested Corona Positive”.

Tamannaah Bhatia

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia too had tested positive for COVID-19 in October 2020.

The actress was admitted to Continental Hospital in Hyderabad and shared a picture post-recovery with the medical staff to express her gratitude.

Rapper Raftaar

Rapper and music composer Raftaar, who is best known for songs like ‘Tamanche Pe Disco’ and ‘Swag Mera Desi’, tested positive for COVID-19 in September last year.

The rapper had taken to Instagram to share an update about his health with his fans. He also revealed that he isolated himself at home and was waiting for his next coronavirus test as he felt there was a “technical error” in his report.

Arjun Kapoor & Malaika Arora

Actor Arjun Kapoor had announced testing COVID-19 positive earlier on September 6, 2020. Later in the day, his girlfriend, Malaika Arora confirmed that she too was infected with the virus. Malaika added that she is currently under home quarantine.

SS Rajamouli

Bahubali director SS Rajamouli and his family members had tested positive for coronavirus in August 2020 and remained in home quarantine.

Amitabh Bachchan & Family

Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai after testing positive for COVID-19 in July last year. Big B was in the hospital for two weeks.

The veteran star’s son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter had also tested positive. However, his wife Jaya Bachchan had tested negative.
