Cuttack: An unidentified miscreant hurled a bomb at the residence of Athagarh MLA Ranendra Swain’s brother Birendra Pratap Swain at Chandni Chowk in Cuttack on Monday night.
According to Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora, who rushed to the spot, police have verified the video footage from a CCTV cameras installed in the house. “It showed an unidentified man on a bike, hurling a bomb at the house and speeding away from the scene after committing the crime. We are in the process of identifying him,” he said.

The bomb exploded near a car kept in the garage of the house. “We heard a loud sound. No one was injured and there was no major damage to property,” said a local resident.
