Ahmedabad: Ever since our Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor and then thwarted Pakistan’s efforts to strike at several Indian cities, the government and Opposition have spoken in one voice against terrorism emanating from across the border.

India have sent multiple delegations of MPs and diplomats to dozens of countries to explain our stand vis-à-vis terrorism and the rationale behind Operation Sindoor, while top leaders of the government have delivered stern warnings to Pakistan against any future attempt to target India.

In his latest tirade, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued another sharp warning to Pakistan’s government and military over their support for terrorism, stating that they must choose between peace and provocation.

“If you want a life of peace, eat your roti — otherwise, my bullet is always ready,” Modi said while addressing a rally in Bhuj on Monday.

India’s Operation Sindoor following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, Modi reiterated, was a decisive message to the world against terrorism and a clear signal to Pakistan that any provocation will be met with overwhelming force.

“We waited 15 days for Pakistan to act against the terrorists of Pahalgam. When they didn’t, I gave full freedom to our armed forces,” said Modi, who is visiting home state Gujarat for the first time since Operation Sindoor.

“For Pakistan, terrorism is like tourism. But we have a zero-tolerance policy,” Modi warned.

Urging Pakistan’s youth to help policymakers change the nation’s trajectory, Modi said: “To free Pakistan’s people from the disease of terrorism, the youth of Pakistan must come forward. Live a life of peace and prosperity. Eat your food. Otherwise, my bullet is always ready.”

Lauding India’s Armed forces for conducting precise strikes and destroying terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK, Modi said, “We targeted terrorist bases and reduced them to dust. We even conducted strikes from within Indian soil.”

Modi went on to add that Pakistan targeted civilian areas in Gujarat’s Kutch and other border regions, but the Indian response was swift and punishing. “They dared to shed Indian blood. We hit back with double the strength. Their air bases are still in the ICU,” he said amid cheers from the crowd.

“All of Pakistan was shivering. They had no way out. They waved the white flag and begged for a ceasefire,” Modi said.

Col Sophiya Qureshi’s family at Modi roadshow

Earlier in the day, Modi held a roadshow in Vadodara, which the family of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi — the Indian Army officer who became one of the faces of Operation Sindoor – attended.

Modi was welcomed by a huge crowd waving the Indian Tricolour in the morning. Thousands, including Col Qureshi’s parents Taj Mohammad Qureshi and Halima Qureshi, her twin sister Shyna Sunsara and brother Sanjay Qureshi, lined the streets to greet the PM.

Shyna told reporters it was “a moment of pride” to take part in the roadshow.

“It is a matter of pride that our Prime Minister always stands in the front and gives assurance to the people of the country that he is always with us,” she said.

Col Qureshi’s sister said PM Modi bowed down when he was crossing them, and they returned the gesture.

“It was a very different moment. I cannot express it in words. It felt as if he was giving a message to the world that we are standing with you all, and no one needs to be scared,” she said.
