Cuttack: A peddler was arrested with 5 kg of brown sugar worth around Rs 27 lakh at Bellview Square in Cuttack city on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Jitendra Bastia. “There are 19 cases pending against him at different police stations. He resides at Bidanasi,” informed Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh.
Bastia was nabbed while attempting to sell brown sugar at Bellview square. He used to procure the contraband from Jagatsinghpur, police sources said.
