Brown Sugar Worth Rs 21 Lakh Seized, One Held
Khurda: In an excise raid, about 105 grams of brown sugar was seized from Christian Sahi in Khurda late on Thursday.
A person identified as Benudhar Pradhan was arrested in this connection. Cash to the tune of Rs 58, 000 was seized from him.
Excise officials said the market value of the seized brown sugar would be around Rs 21 lakh.
Tipped-off about brown sugar smuggling, a team of Khurda excise sleuths raided a house and seized the drug from the youth.
Earlier on November 8, the excise officials had arrested a person with brown sugar worth Rs 4 lakh from Samantarapur in Bhubaneswar.
