Cuttack: With the Annual High School Certificate (HSC) scheduled to begin in Odisha on February 23, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) for the first time introduced online information transfer system on Monday to know about the details of all examination centres.
Talking to media persons at the BSE headquarters here, Controller of Examinations Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty said the Board was earlier receiving detailed information on the conduct of examinations at the specified centres regarding the number of absentees, number of students booked in malpractice, and change of language by the students from the centre in-charge through hard copies.
Apart from receiving the hard copies after some days, the Board had taken note of erroneous information in the hard copies.
“Keeping this in view, the Board this year has decided to introduce online information transfer system through which the concerned centre in-charge will upload detailed information about the examination on the official website of the boardwww.bseodisha.ac.in by giving the username and password using broadband connectivity. In case there is no broadband facility, the concerned centre in-charge will send the information through the aforesaid website from his/her smart phone,” Mohanty said.
Stating that the Board has included a total of 2818 examination centres in this new system, he said the superintendents of these centres have been asked to send the information by 3 PM after the examination is concluded.
Mohanty further informed that apart from the centre superintendents, the Board has included all 30 District Education Officers (DEOs) in the new system so that they would be simultaneously able to get the information uploaded by the centre superintendents on the official website of the Board.
Through this new system, the processing of the results will be error-free, he maintained.
He said to acquaint the centre superintendents with the new system, the Board has decided to start the system on an experimental basis from Tuesday at 12 PM till evening the next day in which the centre superintendents would be given a dummy link to share their information. After they are acquainted with the system, they will start sharing official information with the Board from their respective examination centres from day one of the annual HSC examinations starting from February 23.
