BSNL Odisha Celebrates 26th Foundation Day, Expands 4G & FTTH Connectivity


Bhubaneswar: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Odisha marked its 26th Foundation Day on 1 October under the theme “HAMARA BSNL”, reaffirming its commitment to continue connecting people, empowering communities, and driving inclusive digital growth with reliable and affordable telecom services across the state.

As part of the foundation day celebrations, events were organised at the Circle Office and all operational areas, featuring Mega SIM and FTTH Melas, a “Health is Real Wealth” awareness rally, BharatNet initiatives, and felicitation of outstanding employees.

According to a BSNL release, the state-owned telecom company has expanded its 4G coverage across Odisha as well as strengthened BharatNet and FTTH Infrastructure in the state.

Expanding 4G Coverage

1,789 new towers installed under DBN funding.

2,542 villages already connected with 4G services.

865 more villages to be covered by March 2027.

Strengthening BharatNet & FTTH Infrastructure

High‑speed internet extended to 314 Blocks and 6,798 Gram Panchayats.

44,456 villages proposed for FTTH on demand.

FTTH rollout planned for 5,000 schools, 1,100 PHCs, and 6,500 health centres.

Customer‑Centric Offers

Re. 1 Connection Offer: 1 GB/day, unlimited calls, 100 SMS/day, 24‑day validity.

STV 349 Plan: Unlimited data, calls, 100 SMS/day for 28 days (from 3 October).

PV 2399 Special: Recharge between 1–15 October to get 380 days validity.

New FTTH + OTT Flexibility

BSNL introduced the Build Your OTT (BYO) portal with token system, enabling customers to customise from 27 OTT platforms.
