Puri: Sometimes, facts can be indeed stranger than fiction. A BTech graduate has been found begging on Badadanda (Grand Road) in front of the Jagannath temple in Puri.
The matter came to light when the beggar, Girija Shankar Mishra, lodged an FIR in English against a rickshaw-puller at Puri Town Police Station on Friday.
In his FIR, Mishra mentioned that he is a resident of Niladri Vihar in Bhubaneswar and his father is a retired DSP.
As per reports, Mishra was begging near Gaudiya Mutt on Badadanda on Friday when a rickshaw-puller parked his rickshaw in front of him.
When Mishra asked the man to shift his rickshaw to some other place, a scuffle erupted between them. Later, an injured Mishra lodged an FIR in this connection.
Police said they were yet to ascertain the reason that forced the engineering graduate to take to begging.
