Bhubaneswar: Giving remarks on the budget today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the aspirations of the people of Odisha have been reflected in the budget.
Two of the major manifesto promises were to expand KALIA and include all eligible farmers, landless labourers, and share croppers and to provide health cover to women up to Rs 10 lakh.
Both these promises have been fulfilled in the budget, Naveen added.
“Our KALIA scheme continues with its scope enlarged to cover 75 lakh farmers. Under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, women will get annual medical assistance up to Rs 10 lakh, which is the highest in the country,” said Naveen.
He also said, “I am happy that funds have been allocated for Odia University as well as restoration work post Cyclone Fani.”
It is a pro-farmer, pro-women, pro-poor and growth-oriented budget, he said.
This budget will fulfill the aspirations of the people of Odisha, said Naveen.
