Bhubaneswar: Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the Assembly sine die on Saturday. The Budget session concluded 6 days ahead of the schedule.
On the concluding day, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented the CAG report for 2019-20 in the House. The Finance minister had presented the state budget on February 22.
Total 26 transactions were made during the two phases of the Budget Session. The session saw 9 Bills including Odisha Lokayukta Amendment Bill, Cooperative Registration Amendment Bill, Appropriation Bill passed in the Assembly.
The Budget session, which was held in two phases, was scheduled from February 18 to April 9. The first phase started on scheduled date and concluded on February 28.
The second phase of the session began on March 12 and concluded five days ahead of the schedule on April 3.
The session saw opposition parties disrupting the proceedings on several issues including power tariff hike, paddy procurement and others. Besides, the Speaker suspended three BJP MLAs for the remaining period of the Budget session for indiscipline behaviour and hampering the dignity of the Chair on the last day.
