The Economic Survey document, prepared by a team led by Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran, will provide an official assessment of the country’s economic performance in the ongoing fiscal. It will also list the nation’s challenges. It will aslo provide a roadmap for economic reforms and growth.
PM addresses ahead of the Budget session: “Innovation, Inclusion, Investment…”
Ahead of the Budget Session, PM Modi bows down to goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, to seek economic welfare for the country. He prays to the goddess, chanting a mantra, to seek financial welfare for the poor and the middle-class.
“This Budget will give new energy at a time when the country will be celebrating 100 years of Indpendence and make India Vikshit,” the PM said, adding that innovation, inclusion and investment are part of the economic roadmap of his government. The PM also highlights that this session will focus on laws regarding women empowerment.

Here Are 5 Points On Budget Session:
- The government has listed 16 Bills, including the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, besides the financial business for the Budget session.
- Some of the other key bills listed for the session are the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, The Railways (Amendment) Bill, The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, The Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Amendment Bill, The Protection of Interests in Aircraft Objects Bill, and The Immigration and Foreigners Bill.
- Sitharaman will table the first full Budget of the Modi 3.0 government on Saturday amid expectations of revising income tax slabs.
- The first part of the Budget session will conclude on February 13. Thereafter, there will be a recess to examine the Budget proposals.
- The session will reconvene on March 10 and continue till April 4. The entire Budget Session will have 27 sittings. Lok Sabha has provisionally allotted two days (February 3-4) for discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address. The Rajya Sabha has earmarked three days for the debate.
