Berhampur: After a gap of almost 10 months for COVID-19 restrictions, Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple, a highly religious site in Berhampur, reopened for public on Monday.
The temple opened following strict COVID-19 protocols. Barricades have been put up by the district administration for the devotees to have smooth darshan.
Reports said that several restrictions have been imposed for the devotees during entry to maintain physical distancing. Use of masks and sanitisers have been made mandatory for the people.
However, the devotees will not be allowed enter the ‘garbha-griha’ (sanctum- sanctorum). The management has barred entry of devotees into the sanctum-sanctorum to maintain COVID-19 protocols.
It may be recalled that major temples across Odisha opened gates for public on Sunday giving people an opportunity to seek blessings from the almighty after several months.
Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur, Baladebjiew Temple in Kendrapara, Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam and Gorekhnath and Sarala Temples in Jagatsinghpur have already reopened.
