Burglars Attack Doc Family, Decamp With Gold & Over Rs 10 Lakh In Odisha’s Puri
Puri: A gang of 4-5 burglars allegedly attacked the family of a Homeopathy doctor at Pipili’s Dakhina Sahi in Odisha’s Puri district and decamped with gold and silver ornaments and over Rs 10 lakh in cash late on Saturday.
According to sources, the robbers broke into the house of Rabindranath Mohapatra by cutting a gate and a window using a gas cutter around 2 am. They then attacked him and his wife, son, and daughter-in-law with sharp weapons and looted the house after locking them inside a room.
The family members sustained injuries in the attack and have been admitted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.
On being informed, a team of Balanga police and Pipili SDPO soon reached the spot by 4 am and started an investigation in the loot. A scientific team has been also summoned and efforts are on the trace the culprits.
