Berhampur: Continuing to target places of worship in different parts of Odisha, burglars struck at a temple and took away cash and valuables from the donation box at a village in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
As per sources, the looters broke into Maa Danda Kali temple at Chingudikhol village under the jurisdiction of Kodala police station in the district late on Sunday night and committed the theft.
Locals said the burglars broke the donation box of the temple and took away all the cash and valuables before fleeing.
The incident came to light when the priest of the temple was about the start the rituals on Monday morning. He informed the temple managing committee and a complaint was lodged with the police.
Based on the complaint, the police have initiated a probe and efforts are on to identify and trace the burglars.
