Gurugram: A 19-year-old biotechnology student from Tripura, enrolled at a private university here, is fighting for her life after being subjected to three days of unimaginable torture by her live-in partner in a paying guest accommodation.
According to the FIR, the victim alleged that the accused – identified as Shivam — assaulted her under the pretext of being in a marital relationship, repeatedly abused her physically, and also recorded a video of the act.
The victim’s mother revealed harrowing details of the brutality that the girl allegedly underwent.
It was on the night of February 16 that the girl called her mother and narrated the incident in Bengali – so that the accused would not understand what she said.
“Ma, he’ll kill me today. I don’t have time… He burns my private parts three times a day,” she informed, detailing the confinement, urination, cuts and burns. The mother then dialled 112.
Police rushed to the Gurugram PG address and rescued the critically injured victim. She was initially treated at Sector 10 government hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment.
The 19-year-old Shivam, who was arrested from Delhi’s Narela, confessed to his crime during interrogation.
An FIR was registered at Badshahpur police station on February 19 at 8.35 PM under various sections of IPC.
