Bhubaneswar: In a mishap inside the lion safari of Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar, a bus carrying tourists lost its balance and fell into a ditch.

The bus with passengers on board was stranded for almost two hours in the safari with lions moving around. Around 30 passengers, including children and women, were inside the bus when the mishap took place.

Though no one was injured in the accident, the passengers were in a state of fear with lions moving near the vehicle, sources said.

The passengers were trapped inside the bus for nearly 90 minutes as a lion continued to move around the vehicle. Movement of lions triggered fear among the passengers as they were worried about their safety.

The zoo authorities were immediately informed about the accident and necessary steps were taken. The particular lion was relocated to a safe location and the passengers were safely rescued. They were shifted to another bus and rescued safely.
