Bhubaneswar: Short film ‘C+’, directed by Subodh Pandey and Harsbardhan Vyas, bagged the Golden Ashoka Award in the online COVID-19 International Film Festival 2020 (CIFF) which concluded in Bhubaneswar recently. The festival featured more than 100 short films based on COVID-19 and was dedicated to Corona warriors at the frontline.
A.C. Brahmalal won the Best Director award for ‘Shades of the Four Walls’ and Rakesh Moyarangethem for ‘My Mom’.
Ayush Jena was adjudged Best Cinematographer for the short film ‘Sambhabana’ while Tutu Laimayun claimed the Best Actress award.
Pratik Arnab bagged the Best Debut Actor award and Adrija Bandyopadhyay the Best Debut Actress accolade. Tirna and Taita were adjudged Best Producer, while filmmakers Anushka Priyadarshini, Manish Nayak and Priyanshu Parida got the Best Debut Director award.
Tazeen Qureshy was honoured with Best Documentary for ‘Corona Warrior’ and ‘Covid 19 The Creaming Sun’.
Besides Indian short films, there were entries from Iran, Afghanistan, Congo, Portugal, France, Italy, USA and Norway. The jury comprised of Marianne Borgo of France, M. Maniram, Kudratula Taagli of Afghanistan and Richard of Congo.
