Ganjam: Vigilance sleuths arrested Cadet Sub-Inspector attached to Jaganath Prasad Police Station in Ganjam district while taking a bribe of Rs 3000 on Thursday.
According to sources, the Vigilance Department was tipped off about the accused, Sidharta Kumar Gouda, of demanding the bribe from one P Raja Senapati to settle a dispute with another person.
The Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Sidharta red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The chemicals on Sidharta’s hands matched with the notes confirming acceptance of a bribe, Vigilance sources said.
A case has been registered and the accused has been booked.
