Dhenkanal: The cameras installed in the forest areas of the district recently have captured the pictures of some wild animals including a leopard.
Besides the leopard, other animals that have been spotted include bison (Gaur), elephant, palm civet, tusker, sambar, barking deer and wild boar, said Dhenkanal DFO.
The district Forest department had installed 25 cameras in 8 ranges under it to observe the activities of the wild animals. The department had bought 60 cameras for the purpose, sources said.
Other cameras will be installed in other strategic places soon. Besides capturing the wild animals, the cameras are meant to keep a track on the activities of the hunters also, the sources added.
