Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday appointed Dr Susanta Kumar Nayak as Superintendent of Capital Hospital a premier state-run healthcare facility in Bhubaneswar, with immediate effect.
Dr Nayak was serving as CDM & PHO in Ganjam.
Nestled in the heart of Bhubaneswar, the Capital Hospital has grown from just 60-bed fcility on a 20-acre plot in 1954 into a robust institution boasting over 647 beds. This government-run hospital serves as a vital lifeline for approximately 1-1.2 million residents of Bhubaneswar and neighbouring districts, including Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, and surrounding areas. Recognised as the state’s largest peripheral hospital, it provides uninterrupted 24/7 specialist care, ensuring expert medical attention is available around the clock.
It sees approximately 5,000 patient footfalls daily.
