Kendrapada: A giant carcass of a rare dolphin was found at Bhedisahi village under Pattamundai police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapada district late on Sunday.
The forest officials said that a fisherman had netted the rare Gangetic dolphin, which had strayed into Gobari river from Mahanadi river delta. When the aquatic mammal died, the fisherman threw it away on the roadside.
The recovered carcass was kept at Central Nursery at Sansarphala, where Additional Veterinary Officer Debi Prasad Kunda conducted a postmortem, sources said.
