Cuttack: The Purighat police here on Sunday registered a case against actor and Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty on the basis of a complaint lodged by his actress wife Varsha Priyadarshini.
The case has been registered under Sections 498A, 341, and 506 of the IPC against Anubhav and two of his associates.
In her complaint, Varsha alleged that Anubhav and two associates had prevented her from entering the house on Friday night and she was forced to stand alone on the road outside for an hour.
A day earlier on Friday, the actress had lodged another complaint against her husband, accusing him of trying to malign her character. She lodged the police complaint after a video of an argument between the couple went viral on social media.
In a related development, Anubhav has written to Odisha DGP to investigate an audio clip of Varsha, her sisters and him doing the rounds on social media.
“I would sincerely request you to kindly save me & my family from being killed,” the MP wrote.
