Cash For Query Scandal: Lok Sabha Panel Summons Mahua Moitra On October 31

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha ethics committee has summoned Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on October 31 in the “cash for query” controversy. The committee agreed that the allegations against Moitra were “very serious”, NDTV reported quoting people familiar with the matter.

The committee heard both BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai who have accused Moitra of accepting bribes to ask queries targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani.

Some Opposition MPs who are part of the panel, however, have said the members of parliament should only be called when they are available, Hindustan Times reported.
