Mumbai: Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker feels that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) should be investigating really serious cases which are more important than probing Rhea Chakraborty in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
During an interview with NDTV, Swara took a dig at the investigating agencies probing the Sushant case, saying that the CBI and ED should be focusing on Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi cases instead of probing Rhea.
“I mean, we are talking about money laundering. The ED is investigating this young woman. These are the people who should be bringing back Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi, but what are they investigating? The CBI is supposed to be probing really serious cases and this is what they are investigating! What has happened to Rhea is shameful and shocking,” Swara said.
“I think that what Rhea has been subjected to is absolutely horrifying. As a young person from that industry, it is very relatable and very scary that social media allegations and rantings of one or two blue-tick verified accounts on social media could actually lead to a person getting caught and being accused of such serious crimes,” she added while expressing her support for Rhea.
During interrogation by NCB, Rhea, the prime accused in the Sushant case, reportedly confessed doing drugs and procuring it for the actor.
On Tuesday, NCB arrested Rhea in the drug nexus case. The Magistrates court rejected her bail plea and sent her to 14-day judicial custody.
“Rhea is an active member of a drug syndicate and used to manage finance for drug procurement along with the late actor,” stated the NCB remand application.
