Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is probing the alleged bribery case involving Rs 10 lakh in Bhubaneswar has summoned all the drivers associated with vehicles of a senior IAS officer of Odisha.
As per information, all the drivers who worked with IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi in last six years, have been summoned to appear before the CBI office in Bhubaneswar.
This move is linked to the ongoing inquiry against Chanchal Mukherjee, chief of Central PSU Bridge and Roof’ Company in Odisha. Chanchal along with contractors Santosh Maharana and Debadatta Mahapatra were arrested recently from a hotel in Bhubaneswar by the CBI.
The three was apprehended by the CBI on November 6 from outside a hotel in Bhubaneswar, as they were reportedly involved in the bribery transaction.
Mukherjee, Maharana and Mahapatra have been drawn into the investigation. The trio is currently under CBI remand and being interrogated for the second time.
For the purpose of investigation of in the case, the CBI requires the details such as name, address, contact no. including mobile nos. of all the drivers who are associated with vehicles of Bishnupada Sethi, all the departments headed by him, sources said,
While seeking the details, the probe agency wants the drivers to join the CBI investigation at CBI ACB, office, Bhubaneswar.
The senior IAS officer was immediately not available for comment.
