New Delhi: The evaluation of CBSE board exam answer scripts began on Friday and would continue for the next 15 days, a top source has told Odisha Bytes.
The source also said that results of the board exams would be announced towards the end of May, as has been the practice over the years.
Earlier, some reports had suggested that the board has decided to release the results in April itself, and a notification in this regard was doing the rounds on social media. But the source described the notification as fake.
“Evaluation of answer scripts started today (Friday) and will go on till April 19. Therefore, there are no plans to declare the results in April,” the source said.
Last year, CBSE’s Class 10 results were declared on May 31 and Class XII results on May 26.
About 3,000 evaluation centres have been identified by CBSE across the country this year. A PowerPoint presentation was made by CBSE during the evaluators’ training this year to ensure quality evaluation. A dummy evaluation was also presented to each of them.
The Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangh, a body comprising of parents of CBSE students, had earlier this week staged a dharna in front of CBSE’s regional office in Bhubaneswar, demanding grace marks for Class X board exams in certain papers. Students had complained that some questions in Science, Hindi and Mathematics papers were out of syllabus.
