New Delhi: As a one-time measure in extraordinary situation, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to conduct online/ offline/ innovative tests for students who flunked in Class IX and XI.

This opportunity is being extended keeping in mind COVID-19 related stress, a CBSE notification said on Thursday, adding that this test will subsequently decide their promotion.

“This test can be taken in all subjects in which students have failed. Before holding the test, the schools affiliated to CBSE will give sufficient time to the students to prepare,” it said.

The opportunity will be extended to students irrespective of whether their examinations have been completed and the exam results have been released or their exams have not been completed. This facility is to be extended irrespective of number of subjects and attempts, it further said.
