CDPO, SRA Caught Taking Bribe By Odisha Vigilance In Koraput

Koraput: A Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) were apprehended by Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday for allegedly accepting Rs 40,000 bribe to issue appointment letter to an Anganwadi Worker in Odisha’s Koraput district.

The accused were identified as Namita Rani Paul, CDPO of Bandhugaon in Koraput district and SRA in her office Aswini Kumar Pradhan, a Vigilance release said.

The two were caught while allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 40,000 from a man for issue of appointment letter and acceptance of joining report of his daughter as Anganwadi Worker.

As per earlier direction of the CDPO, Pradhan while accepting demanded bribe from the complainant was nabbed by a Vigilance team.

The entire  bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused Pradhan.

A case has been registered under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and investigation is in progress against both the accused persons.
